How to Arrive:
The best option after you arrive at Athens Airport is to take a taxi to Piraeus (main port) which takes about 1 hour-depending also on the traffic. At Piraeus - gate for Argosaronic islands- you can take the Hydrofoil (flying dolphin) to Hydra.

Hydra features plenty of trail, magnificent vistas and natural settings ideal for trecking.
Hydra-St. Nikolaos: 1 hour, low degree of difficulty. Hydra-Profitis
Ilias: 1 hour medium degree of difficulty. Profitis Ilias-Eros: 30 min high degree of difficulty. Hydra-Vlychos: 35 min low degree of difficulty.
Swimming:
There are many beautiful places for swimming, fishing, snorkeling, diving though all of Hydra’s beacheS, are either pebbly or rocky. Walking and exploring the island is a great activity. You can combine walking with water taxis to reach the beaches on the southern coast.
